Clydesiders Protest. AGAINST INCREASES FOE DIFLC MATIC SERVICE. LONDON, November 21. A significant indication !of the internal dissensions in the Labour Party was visible in the Commons last night when the( Socialist Clydesiders challenged a. Government, motion to regularise the pensions of ths Diplomatic Service. Mr Kirkwoil objected to pensions at the age of sixty, saying that no bne should get more than four hundred a year. Mr R. MacDonald strongly support ed the Government, urging that Stale servants must be well .paid.. Therehad been too ( much leakage from the Civil Service into private industry recently. Messrs (Buchanan, ‘Batey, Maxtox, aud others of the Left Wing flouted Mr MacDonald and Mr Thomas, who also supported the Government. After heated exchanges between the Socialists and the front back benches, the C.ydesiders forced a division on the Government’s motion ,which was carried, fti(irty-three Labourites going into the “No” lobby. / _ ;
