After they had added 43 runs, foolish hesitation by Jackson between the wickets enabled llainmon(l to beat him with a. return to Ames, aud Jackson was run out., after a nice knock. Bradman started well, and gradually the pair got on top of the bowlling, runs coming freely. Bradman was dashing, and Kippax was artistic. Jardine’s slow balls were I particularly weak. Runs came freely. Bradman compiled 100 in 128 minutes, giving a great display, and making many glorious shots. He received long-sustained applause. He is only the third New South Wales ’ man to score a century at his first appearance against Englishmen.

A duststorm at this stage caused bad light, and towards the close of the game many of the non-bowlers were tried. Stumps were drawn at

Mr P. F. Wirn.'.r, writing in the ‘ Morning Post’’ says:—Probably Bradman’s 87 gave the most usatisfaction to his New South Vx ales following On his double century against Queenland, he must le a strong candidate play in the tests. My earlier tip that Kalleway would obtain a place looks like coming off. On recent form, tho two best bofwlers in Austrajlia seem .to .be Blackie aud Ironmonger. ■ >*.
