ANNUAL MEETING. OF GREYMOUTH AMATEUR CLUB. A meeting of the Greymouth Ama itur Swimming Club was hold las! evening, Mr N. It. was decided to refer to the Committee a letter from the Westpor: Amateur Swimming and Suri Club regarding the matter of cups for inter-club competition between West Coast- Clubs. The following report was submir 4/, d: In submitting the annual report tor he past season. your Committee have pleasure in stating that it wa ; probably the most successful year in the history of the Club. The opening of he now Baths, together with a run of good weather, made the season a most peasant one. During 'he year three carnivals were hold. The attendance at each was excellent. and the nominations exceeded all expectations. As a result of these, the sum of £25 was handed to the Baths Construction Committee, towards heir remaining liability, and an amount of £27. being the nett proceeds from the las L carnival, went, to the Diamond Jubilee Committee. Your Club also erected seating accommodation, nt a c >'t of over £2O. In spite of this heavy expenditure, 'here still remains a sum of £2O to commence the new season. A team was also sent to Westport tun ard s the latter end of the season. The Westport Club mad • the visit a most enjoyable one, and i is hoped that a regular interchange of visits may be made po sible in the future. The Borough Council has decided to set up a Baths Control Committee, the Mens’ Clubs in Groymouth to bo represented by two delegates. Provision has been made for the issue of -easca tickets. This should bo a very welcome iltm to Club members. A suggestion has been made by th< Wistpoiq Club that the West Coast clubs should combine and obtain a rihieid for competition purposes.
