REMARKABLE TRAGEDY. (Received November 1 at 7.50 p.m.) SYDNEY. November 1. A piece of iron, hurtled by an explosion aboard an old paddle stcanvr at the Roz.clle wharf, fell fifty yards away, killing the owner of this vessel John Grille Another piece of iron struck the side of a house 100 ya rdf further on. and smashed, among other things, a kitchen sideboard. (Received November 1 at 10.10 p.m.) SYDNEY. November 1. The paddle steamer on which the explosion occurred was named the New castle. She was being broken up by explosives. When Grille was standing clear awaiting the firing of the charge, he was struck by a flying piece of scrap iron. Another man. standing close by in conversation with Grille, escaped injury.
