FOUR SHOT DEAD. BY A SPIRITIST MANIAC. Who Then Suicides. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn). (Received November 1 at 8.50 i- m.) SYDNEY. November .1. A sensational shooting affray occurred this afternoon in Harrow Road Rockdale, a Sydney .suburb, when a' man entered a house and blazed away vvith a revolver. He shot three women and a man. and he is believed Io have then turned *he weapon on himself. Two of the women were killed. Hie o.hers being in a seriou< condition. The victims are:— Garnet Robb, aged lorly year-', a re turned soldier. Miss Palmer, aged thirty yrary. Mrs Edith I’almer, Junior, ageu forty-twof years. Mrs Eliubeth Ashley, housekeeper. Still another man. Jos, ph Palmer, eighty years is critically injured. Hitherto an invalid am bund, he was just able to utter something about “M der in the bouse I” Ji was appareidly column ted ,’by Robb, a nephew of Mrs J’aluunr. He is described as a religious maniac and u spiritualist, and the Palmer family were known to be try ing to get him out of the nous' . The tragedy was discovered by u woman fri nd of Mrs Palmer, who found the house in great disorder, wit 1 -' a corpse he>«‘ und another there. Edith Palmer was lying on a s'oiu. but w»s not dead., She was just able to give the most brief details. The polio* were immediately sum moned. They found Robb dead upstairs on a bed, yith a bullet wound I in the chest. There were two rilles, with hundredof rounds of ammunitions and also a long knife sharpened to a sharp point. The police ascertained that the family was) sitting at lunch when Robb entered and shot one after ancithe r .
