The Session. ENDS EARLY NEXT MONTH. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 24. The main business before the House, of Representatives this week will ; be *he discussion of the Public Works Statement and Estimates. , This being election year, members will no doubt have a good deal to say about roads and bridges, and public buildings. When these matters are disposed of, members will be anxious to get back .to their constituencies as soon as possible. It is expected that the session will end on o: about October sth* . CANTERBURY SEATS. CHRISTCHURCH, September 24. ; The final selection of a Reform can didate for the Kaiapoi seat will be made on Wednesday from between Messis J. W. Beanland. J. A. Flesher, and L. B. Evans, they having all signed a pledge to accept the decision conic to. It is probable that for the Christchurch East seat a Prohibition can di - date will be nominated to stand against the sitting member (Mr 11. T. Arm strong) and the selected United Party candidate (Air D. F. Dennehy). The matter has been under consideration for some time by Prohibitionists residing in the electorate, and it is understood that ft' Cainlidote.- will be a’nnounc ed at an early date to stand as an Independent Reformer.
