BASKETBALL.
WELLINGTON TOURNEY. WELLINGTON, August 25. At the basketball tourney, in :hc morning games, Canterbury beat Taranaki by 19 to 10, Auckland beat Otago by 21 to 13 and Wellington beat South land by 23 to 13. The championship points were: Wellington 10. Auckland 10, Otago 6, Canterbury 4. Hawke’s Bay 4, Southland 2, Taranaki nil. The leaders met at three o’clock, and the North v South started al 4 p.m.
