West Coast Championships. SIME WINS FINAL. The final round of the men’s championship was played at Omoto Links on Saturday afternoon, in drizzling rain, and resulted in Sime beating Pack 2 and 1. The final of the ladies’ championship resulted in Mrs Sloe beating Miss Tennent 5 and 4. Details of the final of the men’s championship are as follows:- -The firs 4 hole was halved in 4. Sime was on the- green for the second hole, but bad putting let Park win—one up. At the third hole both made good drives. Sime crossed the approach and topped his second by Park—all square. At the fourth a good tee shot ami long punt l>y Park saved him—all square. At the fifth Park toppl'd his drive and lost thp. hole —Sime 1 up. Both made good drives for the sixth, and also with their second. Park had the misfortune to move his ball and lost the hole— Sime 2 up. In the seventh both were on the gr. on in 3, but the putting was weak, and they halved in 6. Sime was on tho green in the eighth. Park was just short, and failed to negotiate a stymie. Sime 3 up. At the ninth both had good drives. Tho hole was halved in 5. Both were well away at the tenth. Sime bunkered his second, and Park was slightly short, and the holo was halved in 5. At the eleventh Park was almost dead on with a beautiful shot. Sime was on the grass. Park missed, and the hole was halved in 3. At the twelfth both made good drives, but poor seconds. Tho hole was halved in 5. With good drives both reached the green at the thirteenth. Park approached badly and Sime won 4 and 5. Both wore on rhe green at the fourteenth. which was halved in 3. At the fifteenth both made good drives, but Sime bunkered his second, and was short with his third. Park was on the green with his third, but good putting gave Sime the half in 5. Sime was short with his drive t 0 the sixteenth. Park was on the green and won 4 ami sSime 2 up. At the seventeenth both made good drives, but were slightly short with tho second. Sime halved the hole in 5, and won the match 2 and 1. GREYMOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP. The Grey Club championship contest was advanced a further stage during the week-end. McCarthy beat F. W. Shallcrass 7 and 6. Wild beat Meldrum 2 and 1. McCarthy plays Wild in the final, whicb. fakes place next Saturday.
