Mr P. Fraser’s entitled “Judicial Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) will mean th? cutting our of what are generally termed “spicy” matters from publications which generally revel in them. The Act is a short nr.e of 4 clauses and provides for offenders a fin e of £5OO or four month' ;n the cooler. The gist of the Act is contained i, the following:- - 2. It shall not be lawful to print or publish, or cause or procure to be print<’u or published i.i relation to any judicial proceedings, any indecent ir.it-te-i er indecent medical, surgical, or physiological details being matter which would be calculated to injure public morals. 3. It shall not be lawful to print or publish, or cause or procure to ( >c printed or published, in relation to any judicial proceedings for dissolution of marriage., for nullity of marriage, or fo r judicial separation, or for restitution of conjugal rights, any particulars other than the following, that is to say:— (a) The names, addresses, and occupations of thc parties and witnesses. (b) A concise statement of the charges defences, and counter charges in support of which evidence has been given; (c) Submissions on any point of law arising in the course of the proceedings, and th ( . decision of the Court thereon. (d) The summing-up of the Judge arn the finding of the jury (if any) and the judgim-nl of the Court and obser.va ■ I tions made by the Judge in giving judgment.
