FOR BRITISH SUBMARINE CREW'S REMAINS. MOSCOW, August 22. It is officially stated in reply to the British report that the Soviet has now replied to the British Government’s request for permission to remove L. 55 bodies to England for burial, that “expecting the British Government would wish lo transf r to the Motherland tho bodies, the Soviet ~ authorities from the . very beginning, look appropriate measure- and were careful io preserve the personal belongings of th ‘ victims, in order to hand them over to the relatives. ’ ’ NO WARSHIPS! Tho British Government has inquired through the Norwegian! Mission, the -possibility, of sending a warship to transfer the L. 55 bodies to England. Tho Norwegian Government was informed that the Soviet did not object to the arrival of a warship belonging to a friendly' nation, or of a British merchantman,, but. could not consent to a British warship entering Soviet territorial waters.
