NEW HOSPITAL REGULATIONS.

CHRISTCHURCH, August. 22. Arising out of the recent inquiryhold by the Hospital Board regarding the death of a nurse, new regulations

for dealing with nurses who are sick were adopted by the Board to-day. The'Hospital Committee reported having fully considered the suggestion made by the special meeting of 'the Board, that an experienced doctor be appointed to examine all nurses periodically, and prescribe in cases of illness. The Committee recommended that the Medical Superintendent examine all the nurses on the staff at intervals of u'>t more than six months, and that all nurses be .seen by the Superintendent who shall be responsible for their tr*. a tin ent.
