WELLINGTON. August 22. Mr Kidson’s'evening report states: A moderate anti-cyclone- is passing the northern extremity of the Dominion, while a deep depression is centred In the south-west Tasman Sea. Forecast: West to south winds north of New Plymouth. and Napier, later veering to nortlierlies. Elsewhere, north to northwest winds, moderate to strong generally, and reaching gale force at times in and south of Cook Strait. Rathen rough seas on the West Coast and in parts of Cook Strait. Elsewhere, moderate seas, but rising shortly on the West Coast and south of Castlepoint. Strong northwesterly winds to gale, and rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather unsettled and showeryon the West Coast of the South Island. Elsewhere, fair to fine at first, but clouds increasing, and unsettled conditions gradually 7 becoming general, with some rain.
