N.Z. LADY SWIMMER’S SUCCESS. DUBLIN, August 21. At the Tailteann Games the final of tbd Women’s 400 metres swie* resulted: Miss Millar (New Zealandi 6.10 4-5 1; Miss Davey (Australia) 2; Miss Laverty (England. 3. Swimming 14 1-5 seconds faster than yesterday, Miss Millar brilliantly won the final heat. The times indicated the closest race between Misses Millar and Davey, but the New Zealander was never challenged. The Australian girl was beaten by twenty yards, and had to swim hard to stave off Miss Laverty, who finished two yards behind, thirl. Miss Millar reduced Miss G. Shand’s Tailteann record 28 l--ssec. At the Tailteann Games the first heat of •thcYneh’s four hundred metres free style swim resulted: Spence (Canada) 5.21 1; Ault (Canada) 2; Lindsay (New Zealand) 3. VANCOUVER, August 21.
