WELLINGTON, May 19. Saturday evening’s weather forecast stated: Pressure as very high over the western Tasman Sea, and very low east of New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate to strong south-west winds, reaching gale force in places. Rough seas off shore in all New Zealand water s, but moderate in the Cook Strait region and on parts of the east coast. Strong southerly winds and rough seas in the Tasman Sea. Weather mainly fair, but with some scatter <‘d showers. Cold .temperatures, with many frosts inland. WELLINGTON. May 20. Dr Kidson’s evening report states: An intense anti-cyclone is advancing over the Tasman Sea. Pressure is still very low near the Chatham Islands, but. rising. Th" forecast is for fresh to strong south-westerly winds, still reaching to gale force in Fouvcaux Strait and offshore in N.Z. kvaters, but moderating gradually. Strong but decreasing southerly winds and rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Some scattered showers in western districts and the far south, but mainly fine. Cold night temperatures, with some frost inland.
