CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW

DISPLAY AT ST JOHN’S HALL. A splendid display of chrysanthemums was staged at the Wesley Hall yesterday, the occasion being the annual Flower Show held in connection with St John’s Church. The show generally, and particularly the decorative section, reflected much credit upon the Greymouth and Runanga exhibitors alike, many of the blooms being remarkably tine both in regard to size and quality. Tn addition to the flower display, there were numerous stalls, all of which were well patronised. A feature of the show was a section for juvenile cookery, some very creditable specimens of culinary art being exhibited. The stallholders were a s follows: — Guild work stall, Mesdames Lowe and Graham; Cookery, Mesdames Drake ami Wilson; Sweets. Misses M. McKay and Edna Wise; Girls’ Guild, Misses N. Tenn ent and R. Shannon; Vegetable, Masters J. Kyle and W. Tennent; Flowers, Mesdames J- Leitch and C. Rose; Books, Miss K. Kerr, Secretary, and Mrs J. Forbes.

The Mrs IL McLauchlan Cup for the most points in the Chrysanthemum section was awarded Mrs Mead (Cobden), the runners-up ■ being Mrs Black and Mr A. Grogan.
