PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held yesterday. Present: Mesdames Carr (President), Leah,y, McLean, Moore, Aiderton, O.’Brien, Dennehy, Garde, Greenslaide, Robertson, and Denton. An apology was received from Miss Braidwood. A circular was received from the Central Council stating that the annual general conference of the Society will be held in. Wellington from August 28th to 31st, both days inclusive. It was decided to hold the annual ball in aid of the funds on Thursday, only 12th. Nurse Spring reported as follows: —I Visits to homes, new cases 22; old cases 131; visits to office': adults 145,' babies 94: older children 41. Outstations. —Visits to nomes: New cases 7, old cases 78; visits to office: adultj 12, babies 8, older children 2. During the month two visits were paid to Hokitika, three to Runanga, two to Dobson, and one each to Otira, Blackball, Ngahcre, Taylorville, Paroa and Kumara.
