SEA COOKS’ DISPUTE. ON HUDDART PARKER SHIPS. SYDNEY, April 10. Over three hundred men are now idle as the result of the cooks’ dispute on the three Huddart Parker Coy.’s Steamers the Ulimaroa, Zealaudia and Corio, and there is no sign of a settlement. It is stated that unless a settlement of the cooks’ dispute on the Huddart Parker ships is arrived at in a few days, the Inter-State Steamship Owners’ Federation will apply to thn Federal Arbitration Court for a cancellation of the cooks’ award. The Labour Conference decided that one of the first acts of the Labour Party, if returned to power in the State elections, would be to legislate to provide unemployed insurance. WESTBALIAN RAILWAY TROUBLE. PERTH, April 11. A stop work meeting of the Midland Railway Company’s employees decided to strike, following the company’s refusal to grant long service leave, as on lhe Slate railways. All traffic on the eonmpany. line, has now ceased.
