CHURCH AND STATE To be Separated (Aus. <& N.Z. Gable Assn & Sun Gable CONSTANTINOPLE, April 10. The Turkish National Assembly has passed, unanimously a Bill sepwating the Church the State. It pro vide* firstly, that Islam shall no longer be Turkey’s State religion: secondly, that the, Deputies and State officia’s in future will take the oath of office on their honour, and not in the name of God; thirdly, that the National Assemblv shall no longer be charged with the application of the Sheriat Law.
