The United States Supreme Court, has upheld the “flexible tarill” provision of the E'ordncy-McCumbcr Act, and has given its approval to the Congress Policy of enacting protective tarill’ legislation I’or the purpose of fostering domestic industry. The flexible tariff provision allows the President, upon recommendation <»f th e Tariff Commission, Io raise or lower duties by fifty per cent, in order to equalise the cost ol production at home with that of Ljßcign countries.
