A TARANAKI MAN. (Received March 26 at 10 p.m.) x 'SYDNEY, March 26. The unknown soldier, cabled on March 19th, has been identified at McQuay, of Taranaki. CROSSING DISASTER. MELBOURNE, March 26. A train crashed into a motor truck when the latter was crossing the line at Urymple, near Mildura, killing William Beaumon, Ivy Moss and Colin Pickoil, and injuring three other passengers in the truck. AUSTRALIAN RACING. MELBOURNE, March 26. At Moonee Valley Races the Eight Hours Handicap resulted:—Tookarby 8.3 .1, Kingun 7.0 2, Imitator 8.2 3. Nine starters. Won by a neck. Time 2.391.
