YOUTHS AND GIRL Numerous Charges (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 2fi. .Throe youth Richard Carter. George Johnston Duncan, and James Johnston Youngson, were faced with several charges nt the Police Court this morning. Carter and Duncan were charged with attempting to break and enter th shop of Robert Storer by night on March 13th, with intent to commit a crime, and with breaking and entering the shop of A. G. Sherriff by night on March 13th, and stealing 7s. the pro perty of Sherriff. Cart r. Duncan and Youngson were charged with attempting to break and enter the shop of George Kitchen by night on December 11th, with intent to commit a crime. AFr C. J. White appeared for the accused. The accused pleaded guilty to all the charges, and were committed to thi* Supreme Court for sentence. The accused also pleaded guilty to a charge of the theft of goods of the value ol £4, the property of persons unknown. The accused were convicted on this charge. and ordered to come up for sentence after they had been dealt with by the Supreme Court on the pr - \ ions charge. Rail was allowed io each on his own recognisance of £2O, on cor. dition that he reported daily to the police. One of the 4hree prisoners. Richard Carter, and a girl of twenty years of ago were then charged with the theft of three blazers, valued at £4 17s 6*l. th? property of Chas. Wilson and others. 1 Chief Detective Cameron said the youth spoke to the girl in George Street and went to Wood vaugh Gardens with her. They entered a pavilion and took tiie blazers, which the girl took home. She then became afraid, and burned them, so that her mother would not know. The youth and the girl consumed some whisky in the pavilion. He ili. i’.d t rhe girl should be placed under supervision. The charge against Carter was adjourned till he had been dealt with by the Supreme Court. The girl’s nam was suppressed, and’ her case was held over for a report. (
