“THE SEA DEVIL”

Von Luckner’s Exploits

LONDON, February 28.

Von Luckner’s daring exploits in the Seaddler are picturesquely told in “The ySea. Devil,” published to-day.

The ship ran through the British blockade in the course of a storm and emerged successfully from a search, on e of the crew, bewigged, passing as the skipper’s wife. Ranging the South Atlantic and Pacific, she scuttled five million worth of shipping during 1917, and sank fourteen English, French, Canadian and American vessels. De-

spite the havoc, she gained the reputation of never having taken human life. She was eventually wrecked on Mopellio Island by a tidal wave and captured.
