DOBSON SPORTS. A very successful sports meeting was held at Dobson. A large attendance was present, (the weather was fine, and the events were keenly contested. Some good football was witnessed. There were three fives from Blackball, two from Rewanui, one from Runanga, and four from Brunner. The winning team came from the last-named district —namely the “Berries,” whose play was brilliant. They indulged freely in the Scottish traditional style of short passing, an<] their play being very spectacular, it was enjoyed very much by the onlookers. Runanga were well beaten in the final. Goals by Erskine and Gibb damped Runanga’s wick, and they were well beaten, the final scores being Berries 2; Runanga 0. The results of the various other events were as follows: Married Ladies’ Race, Mrs Gage; Judgment Kick, A. Ford; Sack Race, Pike; Cricket event, Parsonage. SANDERS CUP. THIRD RACE. INA ERCARGILL, February 21. The third completed race for the San ders Cup this afternoon resulted in the Avalon (Auckland) beating the Betty (Canterbury) by 48 seconds. The position of the others was as follows. Eileen (Otago), Murihiku (Southland), Wellesley (Wellington).
