SYDNEY, Feb. 12. Burns, making the pace a cracker, led from the .jump. .Marl.men began to show signs of distress at one and a-half miles, and at two miles collapsed. He was picked up by the official boat. Burns continued and finished the course of three miles and 170 yards in li minutes 16 seconds.
