WELLINGTON, February 9. The Dominion Meteorologist’s evening forecast is as follows: There is no change in the general situation. The forecast is for north-west to westerly winds, chiefly fresh to strong at times, in the Cook and Fouveaux Straits, modtrate elsewhere. Generally smooth to moderate seas, but rising in Cook and Fouveaux Straits. "Weather chiefly fair to cloudy and warm, but with scattered showers in Westland and Otago, and a slight tendency for thunderstorms at inland stations.
