Alinehan, of South Westland, returned by yesterday’s express from Christchurch, where Air Minehan went for medical attention for an injury to his knee. A Rotorua message announced the death of Air Andrew Ernest Kusabs, aged 60. one of Rotorua’s oldest citizens. and a pioneer of the timber industry. .He leaves a widow and sons. Air Walter Henry, a well known Westport resident, died on Wednesday at the age of 3 years. He was a Shetland Islander by birth, and had been 34 years in New Zealand. He was a widower, and leaves a brother at Westport. Air W. Winchester, Relieving Manager for the Bank of New Zealand, accompanied by Airs Winchester, arrived by yesterday’s express at Hokitike. where he will relieve Afr A. Baker, who is at present officiating at the Greymouth branch. The Greymouth Borough Council last evening passed a resolution of condolence with the relatives of the late Mrs ?vl. Hannan, members standing. In moving the resolution the Afayor (Mr J. W. Greenslade) said the late Airs Han nan had been one of Greymouth’s most prominent citizens, who had displayed a praiseworthy interest in the welfare of the town, and was a large hearted citizen of the type they could ill afford to lose. Respected members of her family resided amongst them, including Mr J. W. Hannan, the Chairman of the Hospital Board, and the community sympathised with them in the loss which they had sustained.
