Arising out of a statement made by Mr Barlow as to teams arriving at Cobden to play third grade matches, without being fully equijiped, it was decided to request Clubs that their teams be fully equipped. It was decided that, commencing next Wednesday, a game be played between the Technical eleven and a representative Primary eleven. A donation of on? guinea was receiv cd from Air T. E. Y. Seddon, Al.l*.
Air Greenwood reported that in future a six-ball over would be enforced in test and Plunket Shield matches, by the N.Z. Council, who were also favourable to major and minor Associations returning to the six-ball over. It was decided that the six-ball over come into effect immediately.
Arising out of a scheme to promote a Minor Association tournament, it was the general opinion of the Alanagement Committee that the West Coast Association should take the initiative in the matter. It was pointed out that the question was being discussed by the Canterbury Association, and the scheme would be brought into operation next year.
It was decided to write to the Ashburton Association offering to send a team to play at Ashburton on December 31st and January 2nd, and to ask the Ashburton Association to arrange terms for a party of twelve. It was also decided that the captains of the four senior teams ascertain the players willing to make the trip if selected. DELEGATE’S REPORT. Mr t A. Greenwood, West Coast delegate to the Conference of Associations at Christchurch, reported that he had interviewed members of the Canterbury Cricket Association, and was assured that a Canterbury team would visit the Coast at Christmas. This matter was to be brought up at the meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association, held hist night. The Nelson delegate had informed him that they were committed to a match at Blenheim, and were also sending a
team to Taranaki for the Hawke Cup. He had stated that possibly a
second Nelson team could visit Greymouth. There was a probability of a visit from the Nomads touring team also. He had asked the Canterbury Association if they would support the West Coast in a request for a Alinor Associations’ competition. They had commented favourably on the scheme, and had promised if the scheme were put into action, that they would select a team from Canterbury to meet the Alinor Association representatives. This question would also be brought up at the next meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association. The Canterbury team, which it was proposed to send to the Coast, would play on December 27th and 28th. Air Casey remarked that the Hawke Cup was at the present time of no use io the West Coast. They were unable to travel, and it would be better to make a move on fresh lines in order to reduce travelling expenses to a minimum. A vote of thanks to Air Greenwood for h ; s excellent work on behalf of the Association was unanimously carried. His report was received. WEEK-END FIXTURES. Saturday, Senior: Cobden v.
