INTOXICATED DRIVER, WELLINGTON, November 28. Charles Edward Bell, 49, baker, was fined £2O by Mr Salmon, S.M., for being intoxicated while driving a motor car, in default, three months’ imprisonment. His license was suspended till March 31st, 1929. CHARGE OF ASSAULT. WELLINGTON, November 28. Norman .Andrew, married, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for assaulting a twelve year old girl in a picture theatre. PRISONERS SENTENCED. AUCKLAND, November 28. 1 At the Supreme Court, Justic Reed sentenced Kevan Francis Burns to 18 months’ hard labour for bigamy. lie became engaged to a .second woman on representation that he was single, lie seduced the unfortunate girl, and subsequently went through the form of marriage with her.
For breaking, entering and theft, Jack Wilson and Roy Johnston were each sentenced to six months’ hard labour.
YOUTHFUL JAIL-BREAKER. TIMARU, November 28. Lesli? Alwyn Oslon McKenzie, aged 17 years, who was sentenced to Borstal for two years, escaped from Timaru jail, and is still at liberty.
