Pearce said, in reply to a question that Mr Bruce had not seen the press report that a joint committee of the two Houses of the New Zealand Parliament had recommended negotiations with the Commonwealth Government for the establishment of a shipping service between the southern ports of New Zealand and Australia. •’Sir Geo. Pearce added: Any representations ma di! by the New Zealand Government would, of course, be given consideration.
