WEDDING BELLS.
Dangerous subject this! The Victorian Council of Women is to ask the Federal Council of the same to insist that intending husbands and wives shall present a clean bill of health before marriage. Eugenists have it all sorted out —the only person they have not asked is Mother Nature. One wonders how many of the ladies who wish to eugenise humanity are mothers and how many are spinsters. The idea is that somebody shall select your partner and that all will be well—on the supposition that if you can’t be married, and therefore only the best kinds will be born. You might as well hang a marriage prohibition label on a tree . and expect it to knock off baring fruit. I A very wise man said this, and eugen- | ists who want to mathematise the i world might masticate it: “Women I bore children thousands of years before marriage was invented and they will continue to bear children thousands of years after marriage has beer abolished.” Do you know personally of any board comprising doctors, eugei ists and women’s councils competem to prevent your proposed marriage?
