OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “THE MARRIAGE CLAUSE.” An unalloyed treat is in store for patrons of the Opera House to-night only, when “The Marriage piause,” a Universal-Jewel, makes its appearance, ft is a story of the mysterious life back-stage. It concerns the career of Sylvia Jordan, an inexperienced girl who is given an opportunity by Barry Townsend, a famous stage director. As he develops her career, he finds that he is falling in love with her. Unknown to him she reciprocates his affection but he believes that her heart is given to Ravenal, the producer. Her star rises and Townsend descends lower in the social scale. He begins to feel she needs him no longer. Sylvia’s big night arrives. She is unable to appear owing to the absence of Townsend, but Ravenal Receives her into thinking he is present. Stimulated, she makes h’er appearance and achieves an outstanding triumph. Unknown to both, Townsend is in the audience and his heart becomes bitter to think that she is able to make her success without him. From then on the story takes a most original twist. Billie Dove and Francis X. Bushman have the leading parts. (SATURDAY — BUCK JONES IN “THE FLYING HORSEMAN.’' Buck Jones encountered some of fhe most gripping experiences of his life in making “The Flying Horseman,'” his latest Fox Films Hestern, which screens at the Opera House to-morrow (Saturday), Matinee and night. Gladys McConnell has the leading feminine role. In the cast with Buck is Harvey Clark, inimitable comedian, and many other screen favourites. The list includes Bruce Covington, Walter C. Percival, Hank Mann, Vester Pagg, Joseph Rickson and eight of the liveliest youngsters in pictures.
