At Ngahere yesterday an auction sale, by order of the District Public Trustee, was held at the Railway Yards. The well-bred pigs in the estate of Mr J. J. O’Brien (deceased) were the chief attraction, and brought buyers from .Rotonianu, Ik.araatua, Blackwater, Grey Valley, KokUtalii and elsewhere; in fact, the attendance of interested people was a record for a country auction sale of late year:-:. The following prices were realised: — Sow and litter £5, sow in pig £7 2s 6d, ditto £7 2s 6d, 2 ditto £6 2s 6d eaeli, 1 ditto £5 15s, another £T 7s 6d, 1 empty sow £3 10s, 1 boar £o, slips £2 each, one sotv £5 12s 6d, 6o ewes and lambs 28s each, 2 hoggets 25s 2 rams empty rows £.j las 6<l,’ dray and harness £l3 10s, harness, chains, implements, tols, etc, were eagerly competed for.
