Ben Yen, Chinese proprietor of the Shanghai Cafe at Mildura, was struck down from behind with an iron bar late on Monday night. His assailant, who was masked, escaped. Yen sustained serious injuries, and is not expected to recover. Pools of blood were found in the cafe and yard. No arrest has yet been made.
