CAIRNS CRISIS.
FARMERS AND STRIKERS CLASH. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (BRISBANE, July 7. Feeling in the Innisfail district is still running high. A clash occurred between strikers and farmers at South Johnstone, but with no serious results. It is stated that, only the traders hitherto handed in firearms in accordance with the proclamation (aabled yesterday). The residents consider the possession of arms essential for the defence of themselves and families.
