TIRE FOLLOWS. AN ARREST MADE. (Per Press Assn.) ' WELLINGTON, June 22. The house of Henry Wm. McCarthy, Home Street, was broken into last week and £7/12/- stolen and two tram tickets. information about the missing tickets was supplied to tram conductors, and yesterday a conductor drew the attention of a policeman to a cai passenger. The latter left the car with the constable quietly, but made a bolt round the corner. He was recaptured quickly and to-day he appeared charged with breaking, entering and theft. The Chief Detective asked for a remand, saying that other charges were P When bail was sought, Chief Detective Ward said the police alleged that the house was broken into, and afterwards set on fire. He said bail should be substantial. The Magistrate fixed it at ±5OO. The accused is John Asher, labourer aged 31. _
