WOULD HAVE BEATEN THE 1924 TEAM. As a selector of the 1905'A1l Blacks and as one who has been prominently associated with the game ever since, Harry Harris’s views on the respective merits of the 1905 and 1924 All Blacks that toured Great Britain are worthy of keen attention. He thought that there was no comparison between the 1905 and 19-4 teams as far as the backs were concerned. When one compared Billy Wallace, Hunter and Mynott, Billy Stead, George Smith, “Mona” Thompson, and the late Bob Deans, with the 1924 backs, with the exception of Mill, Cooke, Mark Nicholls and Nepia, the latter combination appeared ordinary. Were it possible for the two teams to meet, he thought the 1905 team would WHI.
