WELLINGTON, June 16. Mr D. C. Bates reports: —The present indications are for variable winds, but moderate to strong easterlies prevailing in the North, and north-westerlies in the South Island, changing to southerlies. Expect unsettled weather and scattered rain, but conditions are improving again shortly. The barometer is unsteady.
