WIRELESS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, June 16. Giving evidence before the Wireless Commission, Mr Fisk, managing director of Amalgamated Wireless, said there were too many broadcasting stations in New South Wales, and tl cy interfered with each other. He did not advocate curtailment, but favoured allocation of -wave lengths, to power, and proper p'acing of stations. Difficulties in connection with wireless to-day arose through the miscellaneous growth of stations, everybody wanting to do publicity broadcasting and wanting to own his own station. He would like to see an arrangement, whereby everybody with a legitimate desire to broadcast for publicity purposes could do so through the broadcasting service being available to all on equal terms. There must be a limit somewhere, and that should be on the number of stations, rather than on people entitled to broadcast. He suggested that the ownership of the stations be vested in the Federal Parliament.
MOTOR IMPORTERS SQUEAL. SYDNEY, June 16. The British motor car representatives resent the antagonistic attitude of the Labour Aidermen. One prominent importer says it is a great pity that some of the city aidermen should be Victims of vicious anuBritisU propaganda, that is so assiduously prosecuted by foreign manufac-i turers to down British trade and get a stranglehold on British markets. Ho says that if British cars were purchased in Australia instead of foreign, it would result in two hundred thousand of Britain’s million unemployed finding work. In English factories today notices were posted up pointing out that Australia is buying English manufactures, and in return English people should buy Australian products, and they were doing so. It was only right therefore that we should do all that lies in our power personally, as well nationally, to promote reciprocal I trade with the Motherland.
