PARKING OF CARS IN WESTPORT. Sir, —I feel sure that the. majority of those who know the facts will agree that such of your Westport correspondent’s comment re parking of cars is to be taken with a grain of salt. Under ordinary circumstances, therefore, 1 would have let the matter go without a ‘‘bite.” I am, however, strongly opposed to centre-parking in Palmerston Street. Had I been on th*’ Council when the matter was discussed, I would have opposed it. The Council, in sanctioning the arrangement, were illadvised. In my opinion, parking on the sides would double the accommoda tion and halve the risk of inconvenience to the public. 1 am, etc..
