CAPITALIST ASSAULT. ON UNION RIGHTS. (Received April 7‘ at 10.55 p.m.) LONDON, April 6. The Trade Union Congress has issu ed a manifesto, in which it denounces the new Trades Union Bill as “a violent assault on. the workers’ rights, and a violent, outrageous denial of the principles and practices to which the Trades Unions have legally been en titled to for half a century.”/ The manifesto states: ‘‘This Bill strikes at the living spirit of TradesUnionism, and it must be fought, luu by line, inside and outside of Parliament. It is the signal of a class war.’ General Strike Proposal. AGAINST THE ANTi-LAEOUR BILL LONDON, April 6. The National Minority Movement, in a vigorous attack on the ’Trade Unon Bill, urges: “The Labour Exeel. tive to express the workers’ will, by calling a twenty-four hours’ general strike, from midnight on May 1 to May 2, thereby most effectively chai longing the Government.” It requests the Labourites in Parliament to resort to every conceivable form of obstruction.
