DISPUTES COMMITTEE.

West Coast District. This Committee sat in Grey on Feb. 11th to deal with two disputes, one from Roa and one from Blackball. Messrs Parsonage, Hughes and Buist represented th'e owners, and Messrs Balderstone, Smeaton and Wild the employees. The Roa dispute was a claim for close bathing rates as per tho agree inei t. The claim as lodged was disallowed. but an equivalent payment for work done was agreed upon. The *>lackball claim was one for time lost iby several workmen who lost a shift jas a result of being sent home ror committing breaches of the travelling time. Two claims were allowed, both being in the case of miners who were foPowHng the usual custom of leaving the “face” earlier than usual in order to change shifts.
