INDUSTRIAL UNIONISM.
In New Zealand. H is quite evident that the workers of New Zealand are at last slowly wakening from their slum hers, and a movement directed to a more active ami militant leadership is manifesting itself. The teamen’s Union have decided to discard the New Zealand Havelock Wilson, and it is now reported That that arch-reactionary, McArley of E.l’. and C.T., has been removed from office. This is good news indeed, and augurs •well for the forthcoming open conference of the Alliance of Labour, which is to eventuate in April. Un the Executive of the Alliance are several useless gentlemen whose removal would be all to the good of the movemen.. Young’s deposition is a bitter pill for the Alliance of Labour heads and the big guns of the Labour Party. A few ■years ago Roberts, Glover, Fraser, Parry and others used to roll their eyes and scream for the revolution, and denounce 'all and sundry as traitors v. ho advocat-
ed anything but direct action, and the overthrow of the capitalist system. ’Tis marvellous how time and nice smooth billets have mellowed these gentlemen, but now the removal of a reactionary moves them to tears; what a contrast:
