RED OR PINK?

The “New Zealand Worker” uf Jan. 12 publishes an article by Mr W. NV. Henderson, castigating and outlawing the pestiferous communists in Britain. \v.e can understand Mr Henderson’s Li\rt feelings when he views the devastating activities of these “disruption ists. ’ See what the fake labour leaders have to lost by the disruption of the robbing machine which they serve. Power, ease, the fashiomtule dinner parties of the slave-owners, and the blind loyalty of the somnambulist slaves who finance them. “Disruptionists” is Mr Henderson’s word for the Communists. It is a good word, so far as it goes. Disruption represents the first part of thpir programme. Disruption of the whole capitalist machinery for the amassing of private profit by' one-tentii of society from the labour of ninctenths. Yes, it is that capitalist state machine that must first be disrupted be fore thu machinery of production and distribution can be set up to produce I for use instead of for profit. No [“labour” government in any country I has yet been able to frog itself of the international trade treaties and commercial agreements which operate for the enslavement of the toilers in pro|duction and the enriching of the mag | nates who finance that production with money’ filched from the workers. That is why “Labour” governments nave always been compelled to serve the interests of the class in power—the Capitalist class. This class ALWAYS ie- | tains the real power in the shape of armies, navies and police, and only’ when this power passes into the hands of the workers as it has clone in Russia can -file machinery of use production be set in motion. Mr Henderson and the “N.Z. Wo’ker ” being part and parcel of the capitalist machine, profiting by its extortion of profits from the workers, have much to lose by the disruption of that machine. NVe, fellow workers, have not.i ing to gain but bent backs or hungry stomachs. The machine is in difficii! ties now. The wheels of industry,’ in Britain drag, the cogs grind ominously, and as Marx predicted from his analysis of capitalism, this anarchy in production is hastening to its self-imposed destruction. Leagues of nations, uoles to workers, feverish capitalist propaganda and royal commercial travellers —all these are miserable props to share up the tottering edifice of British capitalism.
