GISBORNE. Feb. 22. A tragic affair <• -etirre i at Gisborne High School to-day. Mr Isaac Arthur Winter, aged seventy, who had been caretaker at the school for fourte r a years, retired last week owing to failing health, and the scholars assembl- d this afternoon to make him a presentation. After the ceremony. Mr Winter wont outside and sat on the school steps and a few min itcs later he v. as found dead. The deceased had been treated for heart trouble, and it is considered the excitement of the day contribute** towards his death.
