A NEW PKOiMZSAL. 5 (‘sterda v th<* Greymouth Chamber of Commerce met to receive a deputation from the Greyinouvh Progress League with reference to the question of more united action to promote the progress of the town ana district. The deputation from .the Brighter Greymouth League comprised Messrs Robertson, .Miller, Kent and Crookes. There* was a lengthy discussion (which was not open ro the press) alter which the represenratives of the respective bodies agreed that they should report buck to their respective organisations the nature off the discussion, along with the suggestion that the Chamber of Commerce should bo permitted again to call its adjourned

annual meeting, and to invite thereto* fall interested in the objects in viety land in the project for rhe formation |of a Greymouth Progress League, with [a view to determining rne question ns to the formation of a body with a wider objective than that at present comprehended in the Chamber’s scope, and with the further suggestion that title of the proposed new body might bo that of the Greymouth Chamber of Commerce and Progress League.
