CANADIAN TRAGEDY.
ELEVEN YOUTHS DROWNED. (Received Julv 22 at 10 p.m.) OTTAWA, July 21. A message from Petersborough, Onitario, says: Fifteen boys, mostly, belonging to a Toronto Sunday School .camp, at. Balsam Lake, near here, went out in a war canoe on Wednesday, and eleven were drowned when it capsized. 'Four survivors told the story of their clinging to the upturned cr:\ft in choppy water for over five hours, seeing the while their companions, all of whom were fair swimmers and experienced canoeists, disappearing he hicath the surface. The victims’ ages .ranged from sixteen to twenty-two. pThey wore going for supplies when ?thcir canoe struck a squall.
