AMERICAN BANKING TROUBLE. WELLINGTON, j u l y 22. Referring to the recent Press messages indicating that the Bankers’ Trust Company was in difficulties, the Union Bank of Australia states that this does not refer to the BankersTrust Co., of New York, which is a large institution, able to carry out all its engagements. LONDON, July 21. At the wool sales there was a large catalogue but withdrawals were very heavy owing to the high reserves. The Continental demand is less keen, and prices were somewhat irregular. “Ma katanui” clip sold 22jd.
