PNEUMONIC CASES. On the Increase. ASHBURTON, July 19Two deaths from pneumonic in fluenza occurred during the weA-eii' at Ashburton, one patient in the bur ough being a woman, leaving a lius baud and six children. The other pa tient was a girl aged 15 from Aiethven AUCKLAND CASES. AUCKLAND, July 19 During the week ended noon to-dax twenty-live cases of pneumonic in lluenza were reported, and cigh deaths. Since Saturday, three case, have been reported.
A DEATH AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL, July 19. A man died here yesterday, hi death being largely attributable t< pneumonic influenza. This is the only pneumonic case re ported here, and the position general l y is much the same. No epidemic i apparent. WELLINGTON EPIDEMIC. ON THE WANE. WELLINGTON, July 19It was stated to-day that the influ enza epidemic is decidedly on th wane, and that the worst is past. Business places, colleges and school are gradually getting back to norma There is still a fair proportion absent but very few serious cases. It i s conceded that the epidemic ha comparatively speaking been in mild form.
