RUGBY. Inangahua play Grey on. Sunday, luangahua somehow manage to sneak a win, except when they play for the Dittman SShield. ' It is a surprise to sec Gallagher in the emergency list. He should i.n doubtodly bo among the first fom forwards picked. At last Tim O’Donnell and Sid Smith have got into a rep team. Sid Smith has been playing good football this year. Tinimie w’as always a good forward, but at times inclined to gel offside.
Bob Smith, at full back, is like a wool bale. He will never be guilty oi letting his team down.
Bob Powley justifies his inclusion. He and Dick have been a tower ot strength to the Pirates.
Ralph’ Hindmarsh has been playing good football for some considerable time. He has more right tn the W.C. team than a good many others, who think they ought to be in. Reid is not as good as Gallagher,' and should not be in before him. Shops have not many representatives in th,e team, but Hunt will not disgrace the followers of Sars. Thomson plays his first rep game. He should be a very useful lock. v Jack O’Malley on the wing, if he is in form will be a nuisance to the Grey team. Rugby is on the boom in Reefton this season. In spite of many pro-i phecies to the contrary, it has more than held its own. Pirates and Cronadun play the final for the Stallard Cup next week. The game will surely be one full -of . interest and good football . throughout. Both teams fielding strong teams, it will be hard to forecast the result. Jack Powley may know already. Ask him. . HOCKEY. Ivy Warren is playing good hockey. A useful forward. Black’s Point would have a poor forward line without her and Mavis Cutbush. The Cronadun goalie, Jo Twomey, made some brilliant saves against Point last Saturday. Barbara O’Malley is striking her old form again. The Cronadun left wing will surely be the representative player in that position this year. Cronadun go to Waiuta to-morrow. Reefton play Point at Reefton. Clarrie Breoks is a tower of strength to the Reefton sido. Her two sisters were helping Reefton against Cronadun. Cronadun are in the lead for the
