SOUTH ISLAND NEEDS.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. WELLINGTON, July 7. Among th© matters raised by a deputation of Souili Island members of Parliament to the Public Works Min ister were the following:— That consideration be given to secondary roads, that motorists be obliged to take out a third party policy. That a rule be adopted that drivers must give way to traffic approaching from th© right hand. That bioycles carry rear reflectors. That a new hostel at Milford Sound be built. The necessity for a road over the Haast Pass, Otago to the West Coast. Provision for a track from Milford to Wakatipu. The bridging of several streams on the road to th© Franz Josef Glacier. The Minister undertook to look carefully into the questions raised.
